That said, I've heard good things about it too.

While I've never watched it, I've heard good things about Gunbuster. There's also the Brave Series franchise, beginning with Exkaiser and ending with Gaogaigar (in terms of televised programming). The game exclusive Baan Gaan received a novel adaptation and the most recent, Sworgrader, is a manga.

Gurren Lagann is one. It gets sad around episode 8, but skyrockets with sheer gar and adrenaline around episode 11. It's more of an adventure story with mecha added in for flavor. And makes good use of it. SD Gundam and the Gundam Build series do the same, so there might be some Gundam stuff for you

Body/looks shaming in the cosplay community… let’s talk about it.

If you have been bullied for how you look as a cosplayer you are not alone. Body/looks shaming aren’t unique to cosplay. But as cosplayers wear their craft on their bodies it can mean that existing in cosplay community can expose us to frequent comments about our bodies. Some comments can be hateful and place pressure on us to look a certain way.

Being insulted for how you look is not a reflection on your appearance! It’s is a reflection of systemic discrimination against fat people, people of color, women, trans people and people with disabilities that strives to create suffocating conditions in which people are allowed to exist. It’s a form of control, not criticism.

If you see someone body shaming what should you do? -Say something. Being silent implies permission for awful behavior and messed up views to continue. -Challenge assumptions. Being fat isn’t laziness and being thin isn’t a sign of hard work. Question why when you hear assumptions or make them yourself. -Check in with how you talk about your own body. It isn’t just about how we treat others, but also how we treat ourselves.

And despite that, they apologized for their mistakes and still care about each other. And understanding that is the key to understanding OMORI’s message of learning from your mistakes and forgiveness.

Basil simply wanted to protect Sunny, though did it in a VERY misguided manner, while Aubrey didn’t know that everyone was also struggling with their own pain.

In the end, these characters are flawed, but never meant to hurt one another.

And in the end, Mari forgave him, apologized for pushing Sunny too hard, and pleaded for him to forgive himself.

Hero didn’t mean to hurt Kel and he’s still feeling terrible over it, while Kel didn’t know mentioning Mari would make Hero blow up like he did.

The fact is that none of the characters intended to hurt each other. Sunny didn’t speak up about his feelings towards the recital and the practice, which led to Mari not noticing her brother’s frustration.

Basil, despite falsifying Mari’s death and hiding the truth and nearly killing Sunny, still cares for his friends. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t give him a solid conclusion to his own story, so that’s where my talk about him ends….
