Wow - this is just amazing. Incredible and important research, holding power to account. And the numbers are truly shocking - this is very hard reading.

One day we will look back at this system of student loan repayments and be amazed that it was allowed to happen. We put a high tax on the development of skills and pretend it is a loan. And we apply that tax arbitrarily on the basis of age.

I complain a lot about how awful writing is, but the reality is that it’s also a joy. Like all art, there’s dissatisfaction in the end, & the process is often frustrating, but the creation is also incredibly satisfying. It’s rewarding, in part, *because* it is hard.
