The trees are a known issue and yet... CMP hires contractors (instead of maintaining a larger in-state workforce) to handle maintenance each year; the state/ residents are expected to float the cost of infrastructure upgrades (i.e., cost of doing business) and storm damage. (4/ 5)

A common response to publicly lamenting these outages is, "Just get a generator!" We do, in fact, have a generator, but it shouldn't be *needed*. Back to price....many factors are used to justify thinly veiled, corporate greed. Maine is the most forested state, wildlife, car accidents, etc... (3/5)

A rant. We pay insane electricity prices in Maine. Personally, our appliances are new and high efficiency, yet we pay hundreds each month. Yet, we frequently experience outages, and are among states with the highest total outage time in the US. Just this week, we had 4 outages. (1/5)

According to the Census Bureau, all files on the public FTP server have been made publicly unavailable to comply with the President's executive orders.

They say they'll work to restore the files after they are reviewed and approved.
