An infographic advertising a call for papers for the LIR Annual Seminar 2026. This year's theme is Supporting Emerging Literacies How do libraries design and deliver new literacy programmes? LIR invites submissions for lightning talks which address AI Literacy, including: critical AI literacy; AI in the research workflow; prompting as a literacy. Environmental Sustainability Literacy, including: critical environmental literacy, climate misinformation and campus partnerships for impact. Emerging Literacies and Cross‑Cutting Themes, including: futures literacy labs, data literacy, designing future‑ready services, programme design, ethics across literacies, misinformation & critical evaluation, equity & inclusion. Papers that may not match the above but relate to the overall theme are equally welcome. A 300 word abstract for a 10 minute lightning talk including Q&A can be submitted for consideration to lir.heanet.committee@gmail.com Include with subject title LIR Annual Seminar 2026. Please also include your name, title and affiliation. The closing date for abstract submission is Midnight (GMT), Tuesday, March 31st. The seminar will take place in person at the Asiera offices, Dublin 1, on 13th May 2026.

We offer: Material for School Placement (e.g. posters, CDs, DVDs, cards, books, kits, realia). DVDs (e.g. feature films, documentaries, television series). CDs (Audio recordings compilations of voices that have been captured as they discuss their own lives, histories and experiences of events in Irish national and social history). Microfilm (Mainly national and regional newspapers from the 19th and 20th centuries, with some newspapers from the 18th century, and manuscripts from the National Irish Folklore Collection).

MIC Limerick Library has a large Audio-Visual collection which includes teaching resources for School Placement, CDs and DVDs, and Microfilm documents such as Manuscripts and historic Newspapers which can be viewed our microfilm readers.

The AV Library is located on the first floor.
