And talking of the 'grilled' version, this version is literally "Butter" Chicken; you'll find it being nowhere except for one or two shops in streets of Old Delhi, near Red Fort - it is tasty, but now that I think of it- way too unhealthy to eat lol.

more than Butter, its Cashews and Almonds which is actually used in making the base of the curry, not a lot of Tomatoes, Onions, butter, cream.

In restaurants either cooks make it too tomatoe-y and too butter-y. Hence I don't like it that much now.

Butter Chicken, the way we all now know also came by in same way, many families claim to have "invented" it (including one of my grandfather's cousin also lol) but it was also influenced by the way of cooking food in Punjab region by migrants who came from the Pakistan part of Punjab to Delhi.

Chicken Tikka Masala tbf is more of Indian influenced food- 'invented' by Pakistani and Bangladeshi cooks working in curry restaurants and pubs in 1960s England, serving the South Asian community (kind of like how Döner Kebab came into existence- by Turkish immigrants living in 60s and 70s Berlin)
