A few small scenes from a recent trip to Mount Rainier with a client. Always something new to see despite many visits.

Rainbow over rugged rocky coastline with crashing waves.
After a gray and wet morning, I decided to stick around once the clouds started to break. I thought, this is rainbow weather. I set up on one of my favorite compositions and waited.
I just had a cancelation on my once sold out Oregon Coast workshop Oct 22-26. Details on my site.
Delicate details of a waterfall within the temperate rainforests of Olympic National Park. Under darkening light, I kept the mood to the melancholy scene.
What's up Bluesky? Just got back from the peninsula. I plan to spend more time sharing images and viewing other's work here. If you have a favorite photographer I should follow, drop their @ in the comments. I'd like to see new inspiration.

Itβs Wednesday, Iβm heading to Olympic National Park to do a little exploration ahead of my workshop next week. Hereβs some waterfall images from the area.

Storm conditions in golden sand dunes highlighted by a wind swept sandy ridge and arcing clouds.
Sand & Soul
Wind swept dunes and storm light were certainly good for the soul on this beautiful evening. Dates for 2026 workshops are now available on my site. Canβt guarantee conditions like this, but even clear skies are great for dune photography.

Yeah itβs probably no secret to anyone whoβs been. π
28.03.2025 00:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A trio of rock detail images I enjoyed making while on a pleasant hike in one of Death Valley's more accessible canyons. I've been visiting this area more frequently on my last three trips to the park. So much to see and observe.

The sun drops beneath storm clouds to illuminate an expansive dune field in Death Valley National Park. Light and shadow contrast the scene with the patterns and curves of sand dunes towards the distant setting sun.
Iβve been editing new work from my trip to Death Valley almost every day since I got back. Definitely one of the most intense creative trips Iβve had in awhile. Feeling energized. So, more dunes!

Wild heather blooms in mid summer around Mount Rainier. A small alpine tarn reflects snow capped Tahoma under purple and blue pastel skies.
Summer is still a ways off, but Iβm looking forward to these viewsβ¦assuming National Parks still exist in 4 months. I still have one spot left on my workshop August 11-15.

I saw your Flickr post. We both shot 840mm but via different gear. Uncanny!

24.03.2025 11:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I first saw photos in 2009 and explored the vantage point in 2011 but didnβt have the gear to pull it off. It wasnβt until 2018 that I made my first photos there. We have almost identical compositions from our recent trips to the park so, yeah, great minds and all. :)

My fascination with the shapes of dunes continues. This time at 600mm.
