Great opinion piece. The government stipend will seem nice for people in the immediate, but when they end up with a bill for $30,000 for an unexpected hospital stay and no insurance, the shallowness of that distribution will be revealed.

Opinion | Trumpβs new plan for Obamacare leaves Americans to fend for themselves
We finally know what βconcepts of a planβ looks like β and itβs not good.
Here is my latest for @msnbc.com, on Trump's ill-advised concept of a plan for health care, which entails repealing the ACA, and redistributing private insurers' tax breaks to the people for what would essentially amount to an HSA, which is unhelpful if not wealthy. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Republicans have talked about having the concept of a healthcare plan to replace the ACA for a decade, but sure, this time they *really really* mean it.

I canβt help but think of the absolute cowardice of the private sector, pharma and biotech in particular, who for decades have profited off of relationships with the public sector. Now that civil servants like those at the CDC are being fired en masse, the private sector is no where to be found.
