Trying to sell our stuff and finding people's expectations of how much things should cost are... optimistic. Not sure if y'all noticed but some *inflation* happened, over the last five years or so.

I recently learned I should be using the *least* filtery filter for my furnace, to improve airflow, and use a separate air filter if I want to clear fine particles &c.

I still haven't put my paddle board away for the season yet, either. I could actually do this. I just need 2 more Friends/witches.

What's the 21st Century equivalent of picking oakum? Sorting recycling maybe? Stripping electronics for rare earths? In any case, the admin's vision for America is the good ol' work house, apparently. 🥴

Not sure if witches celebrating Samhain or Quakers meeting for silent worship, but I'm down either way.

In this case it's about bullet placement because it's point blank, and the the long rifle barrel lets you put the muzzle right at the soft spot at the back of the gator's skull, or the pig's temple, or the washing machine's motherboard, as the case may be.

I assume it's the same with pigs and appliances.

This reminds me of that gator hunting reality show where the kid wants to use a big ol' .357 w 5" barrel to finish off the gators & dad in his Cajun drawl says, "I told you, that don't kill 'em good" as the bullet bounces of, and he steps in & does the job with a .22 rifle.

That sux I'm sorry. I have kind of the opposite problem; dad can totally afford the care but siblings won't admit he needs it, & neither will he, obviously.

I gave Olivia a little plastic ball with a bell inside to play with. For a while I would find it in a corner of the room & put it back in the center for her, but I haven't seen it in a few days. So now she's knocking small objects onto the floor to play with; mandolin picks, a thumb drive, etc.

They had it! And Celebration, too. Lucky me!

The poverty foods I ate growing up were mostly Mexican, since we were a mixed ethnicity household, but when I was 20 & broke & living in Seattle I could walk to Uwajimaya & get ingredients for a feast for like $5, & all things I could cook on a hot plate, since that's all I had.

My dad's brother broke his neck in a car accident, lived as a quadriplegic for a few years & then swallowed a bunch of pills & checked out when I was 8. Mom & her brother had a falling out around the same time & never spoke after the grandparents died. My fav 'uncle' is actually cousin Tom. Mensch.

My mother owned every piece of TOS literature that was ever printed. Growing up we had the Star Fleet Cadet Manual on the shelf with the dictionary and other reference books. My mom was one of the original Trekkies, and was very proud of it. She passed away in April aged 76.

People with head injuries love me, what can I say. 😂

You joke, but I spent a month in a TBI unit (recovering from hip surgery; it's the only bed they had for me) and this is 100% accurate.

A reminder for Halloween:

Every person trick or treating should get candy, no matter their perceived age. Things are even more scary and oppressive than ever. Let people have one night of fun and whimsy.

I remember when I could log on to the feed of an EPL match an hour before kickoff and watch the players get off the bus, the pitch being prepared, etc. without any commentary. I miss it.

Coincidentally my father is a millionaire (on paper & he doesn't share with me; I am not wealthy) and a retired bus driver. Not from NY though; just miserly and lucky with the stock market. Any rate, I'm okay with millionaire bus drivers.
