Taking "flavour" very literally, I'm very excited for @molomoot.bsky.social's upcoming game Serving Up Disaster, which is currently crowdfunding. Play as a well-known TV chef trying to save a failing restaurant, or as a bumbling member of staff.

Ah. Killers with pride. "I'll show you, soldier. Fall in." They'll all taste glory on this mission, but it won't be theirs.

the british labour party have utterly thrown trans people under the bus and there seems to be no explicable reason for this, leaving the age-old reason that they're all transphobic, terf-pilled fools.

Anyone who belongs to any minority group needs to be aware that what is being done to trans people can and will be done to them. In a decade we have been stripped of our rights to exist in public spaces by a press campaign and a well funded lobby.

Hm, perhaps it would've been more accurate to describe Fort Abyss as an open caisson, rather than a coffer dam. But the grave associations of "coffer"... Hmmm. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caisson...

Today's #RPGaDay2025 theme is Explore.

New scene – and this time I actually remembered to seed the scene with two crossed cards from the deck! A PRUNING IS COMING.

Because 'Explore', I ask about the location/terrain/conditions; the deck gives me Chasm, which gets shuffled into the Arbiter.

Two Spindlewheel cards: Hunter (fur-laden and sharp-eyed, culler of herds, harbinger of extinction) crossed with Overgrowth (a resurgence of life, nature reclaiming abandoned places/interloping opportunist, a greedy and jealous invader)

A Spindlewheel card, Chasm: a long drop, a yawning canyon, a sinkhole; or (reversed) a dry well, a winding corridor, a gasp of breath

Fort Abyss: monument to the Salt Court's dominion. A rust-walled coffer dam a mile on a side. A square hole in the sea. No land in sight. Once home to research expeditions; now host to a rust-clad garrison—and deep belowdecks, Mimi's command, relentless killers all.

"Finished" writing a scene (im scare quotes because I was already planning the rewrite as the last few lines came together)

Would I free a Ghosthouse prisoner? Would you? Could I handle the responsibility? Could I be responsible for leaving them there? Give Me Away's premise really exercises my brain, my self-awareness, and my empathy. There's not much more I can ask of a piece of fiction.

Big sci-fi concepts and questions that make you think, explored by characters who make you facepalm, tear your hair out, bite your nails and occasionally punch the air. Jump in now if you haven't so far.
