A pot with a soup with turkey, corn, carrot, tomato holding to the surface

#FoodSky turkey soup (the potatoes and carrots seem to have sunk). I usually use noodles but I needed to use potatoes this time.

There was a lot more meat left on the turkey bones than I expected. This is going to be a loaded soup. Tasted and added more sea salt and, yes, some frozen corn, hopefully adding a sweet note against the acid of carrot and tomatoes (should've added only 2/3 can tomatoes, my bad).

I never did make my chicken-corn chowder (it's still going to happen! The ingredients are being preserved in the freezer) but I'm going to have to steal half the bag of frozen corn for this soup; it's going to need the temperance of the sweet corn. I can always get another full bag for chowder.

I have been much more into making soups the past 2-3 years. I don't think I've prepared a turkey/breast and then made soup in quite some time, though. Once I have procured celery and carrot, soup/stew become must-make to use them up lol.

TBH if I didn't come from recent country stock, I might've never heard it-- I don't think I ever heard anyone (especially a young GenX person) in Dallas call it "pulley bone," though I think everyone was familiar with making a wish if you got the bigger part when you *pulled* it with someone.

Is going to be the coldest night since February here tonight. Perfect time to have 3 days of soup ready to heat up.

I had a few bites of turkey while splitting the breast. It's fine. The greens, maybe not (if not too bad, they will go in the soup; the last leftovers I had of them, I wasn't digging them and only ate 4-5 bites). Cornbread dressing headed for freezer along with 1/2 the turkey breast already frozen.

I regret not cutting the "pulley bone" out of the turkey breast before boiling it to make soup. That's the best bite on chicken/turkey. My mother's aunt used to cut it out as a separate piece of chicken from the two breasts. [Yes, I know it's been a week. 8th day for me ok, never get sick.]
