I bought a great Family Cat compilation a few years ago but Tom Verlaine was the only single (12”) I bought at the time. Sought it out purely because of the title.

Moose and Weather Prophets were the two I bought at the time.

I made so many great discoveries borrowing from the local library with a pack of TDK C90s to hand.

Mine was the United Kingdom/California cd in ‘89. Probably after reading a Melody Maker review.

That David Nolan book is a great read. Most of those who claim to have been at the first one were only at the second.

Sadly not as I loved them. Tom Verlaine, Killing Joke and Japan were all supposed to play on the Sunday but all pulled out. GO4 were drafted in as last minute headliners

I went to the Daze Of Future Past two day thing at the same venue in 1981. Beyond horrible venue but got to see The Bunnymen, The Cramps, GO4, Bauhaus and Altered Images amongst others.

Would have to be Saturday. Never saw Joy Division.
