We are talking about over three decades ago for the UCL formation, and over a decade on financial rules.

Many young or new PL fans assume there was a level financial playing field before FFP, but by 2013 we were 30 years into a near-closed shop of gigantic financial rewards.

If you were outraged by the idea of the Super League due to exclusivity and impact on “smaller” clubs and lower leagues, but didn’t clock that the UCL is 95% the same thing since 1992, then it’s time to start connecting the historical dots.

Financial doping in other words.

False. It’s the formation of the UEFA Champions League.

Exclusive & landscape-changing prize money & commercial appeal organized by a small group of established clubs who then enacted rules to keep anyone else from investing enough to potentially access UCL’s $$$ return.

Cheating in other words.

The Premier League’s financial shenanigans protect the interests of the established clubs.

Because charging owners with investing in the business they own is not a scandal to neutrals. Only to those whose own interests are threatened.
