Sad but true. I remember a time when there were no or few ads, nothing required subscriptions and the best services were free or really cheap like various antivirus programs, spotify and netflix. There was no social media, only moderated forums with paced content. Fanfic was don't like don't read.

Bsky is perfectly in the right to moderate its content to the srandards it envisions to be used for and if that irks you, you need to take your personal demand for artistic expression you want to be seen as untied to your personal image, to a website it belongs. That place is not bsky.

Apparently, a lot of ppl also need to hear that bsky isn't an art website, but social media. Its purpose is self-expression and community, not discussion of abstract artistic concepts which automatically takes any art out of its context as soon as it is shared.

The only system that seems to still work these days is the cat distribution system. It's Like Bast is the only old God who managed to modernize, and she's thriving.
