Great to see progress with the line. Is the cycle path being rerouted or will it run alongside the railway? Either way, will the appalling surface finally be replaced?

In this area over the the last year the old bridge in Chepstow has been closed, and a weight limit put in place on the old Severn Bridge. Not London, so not making national news.

Doesn't look good Craig - just the chain off, or in the back wheel?

Back in 1980-something I helped* my brother change the clutch in his Mini. All day job, and he bought me a couple of pints that evening.
I should have held out for at least a crate.
*Helped = did the job while he watched and passed spanners occasionally.

I'm signed up for the J&G, with Dave Harmer, as well this year by the way Craig - only my third time riding it, but it's a nice route again.
Not sure what other events I'll ride in February, I've got at least one weekend working on 35011.

Yes, I've ridden it a few times and I'm riding it again this year.
Lovely route, not much main roads, not especially hilly - I've ridden the last two years on the fixie and I'll probably do the same again.
Nice village hall controls with hot drinks; cakes at Stanton and bacon rolls at Sherborne.

Just uploaded my last Weston Wheelers ride of 2025. A good year on the bikes, and added a few to the collection. #veloviewer

No more bikes, my wife said. So I told her Santa had delivered this.
Happy Christmas everyone!

Lovely bike - great to see it restored and being used.

I write manuals and specifications for processing equipment. The only market sector that demands non metric units is the USA. Every other country - including the UK and Canada - has no problem with metric only.

Agree with all of this. I ride a 30 mile round trip commute, and regular 200k Audax rides, on 50 year old bikes, running mainly with original components. Not very fast but comfortable and reliable.

Yes - they continue supplying French BBs and headsets. Not cheap, but very good quality, and those parts help keep my vΓ©los anciens going.

I've got a pair of these too - really good, especially for the price. Mine are on their third winter of commuting now.

I don't normally put opinions on social media, but I'll man the barricades for everyone's right to GruyΓ©re, Caerphilly, Brie, Wensleydale.... whatever cheese they damn well want.

There'll be a drop down arrow on your DIY entry on the Upcoming and Pending Events section on the AUK Control Panel - click on that and it'll show a button to upload the tracklog.

Sadly I didn't get to see Stacia - my first Hawkwind gig was back in 85 and I think she'd left a few years before then.

I made the mistake of booking a Travelodge in York earlier this year. The only good thing about the stay was it was just for one night. I'll pay the extra for a Premier Inn in future.
