I've been thinking about sports heartbreak because Alain is old enough to be moved to tears by games, and a team I'm emotionally connected to is finally good enough for their losses to really hurt (2025 NFC championship, Sunday night). Collective heartbreak, rather than individual, is powerful.

NBC will also have a presence during All-Star Week. The MLB Draft will move to the Saturday of All-Star Week where NBC and Peacock will present the first hour of the event. Peacock/NBCSN and MLB Network will carry the remainder of Day 1. NBC and Peacock also will present the Futures Game, a game featuring baseball’s future stars who are the top players in Minor League Baseball on All-Star Sunday. That game will be followed by a new event that will feature former players and celebrities which will be streamed on Peacock.

Consider me skeptical of "All-Star Week" when there will be MLB and MiLB games ongoing throughout Saturday and Sunday, July 11-12.

July 13-15 (and July 16 with the exception of one MLB game) see the whole sport shut down.

Stop scheduling "big" MLB things while regular season games are ongoing
