08.03.2026 16:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It took me basically exactly a month to produce the next one, which feels like a SLOW pace, and I'd like to go faster. But a lot of hours go into each of these, so I can't make any promises. Hopefully all that work comes through!

My second longform video is up! In which we talk about my incredible athletic skills, taking Ls, and what to do afterwards.
I've been learning a LOT making these, and I think there's a lot of room to improve but I'm happy with how it turned out: youtu.be/mGvV3ReGlEo?...
People can say itβs utopian or dreamy but itβs a fact that you have to believe new things are possible, fundamentally, in order to make them real. You have to make the choice to believe that more than this is possible & not be resigned to this being the way things have to be because itβs not at all.

So as part of my personal video projects, I've been trying to write 30 mins of flash fiction a week based on a random word. Seems silly but it has been very fun.
And guys. Just wrote the coolest shit. Feels amazing. Writing is so good. Words are good.

I've decided to take a serious run at a solo YouTube channel.
For now, it's going to exist at the intersection of my two great loves: gaming and fantasy fiction. If you like esports, fireballs or all of the above, come hang: youtu.be/W2vKZ6BMKmI?...
This sounds an awful lot like reading more though. Suspicious.

who the hell called them "podcast hosts with whom I've developed an unhealthy parasocial relationship" and not

I've started seeing people online say "you can tell it's AI because it used lists of three." First em dashes now this!! Gang, the AI models copy what HUMANS write! Our brains like groups of three!! I really have to write more and more like a robot so humans don't think I am one

Being a journalist is sick: I just contacted a pre-eminent jaguar conservationist in Argentine with a question that has been weighing on me for ages and he wrote back right away with an informed answer.

Anyways, this will almost certainly be my last post on here about my former workplace, and sorry for the long thread.
If you follow me here because of my previous job: thanks again for watching.
I'm happy to get to share Doran and Guma's story after so many interviews and events and hours and hours of work. And my understanding is that this may well be the very last video on the channel. I guess it's a nice way to go out, with a video that meant a lot to me and my colleagues.

It also went live exactly a month after the layoffs, which is truly a bizarre feeling. Bittersweet, to say the least. But in spite of everything, I'm glad it's out in the world.
One of my first thoughts after we got let go was that all this work would be for nothing.
This was, literally, the last thing I did there. I finished the script the day before we all got laid off. A friend and former colleague was brought in to edit it freelance, and he did a great job.
But it's super weird to have a big piece like this come together with no insight into the cut.
I wasn't sure if I was going to post about it because, honestly, I'm still not entirely sure how I feel. But my last video for theScore, our Worlds doc, has been up for a couple of weeks.
A year of work and travel and reporting went into this project: youtu.be/82naZ9LdNqw?...
You know what's good? Books.

21.11.2025 03:07 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0After a decade of working my dream job, it's over. I was laid off from theScore esports today. Gonna take some time to mourn and be offline. I'll probably have more thoughts later, but for now if you know anyone who needs a writer, producer, or video host, please let me know.

After 10 amazing years, today is my last day at theScore esports.
It's been an amazing ride, and I'm so grateful for the career I've had and the people I've met.
This isn't the ending that I would have chosen, but in this industry you don't always get to choose your ending.
This is a really great thread that very much encapsulates how I and, I think, many other folks are feeling today.
I'm pretty sad, but I do really appreciate the optimism here.
