I ran across someone saying they wanted to call their lawmakers to speak up. However, about what? Their answer "Well everything really. Why are y'all acting like fools? That is all." They were right. It's hard to pick just one thing when the options are so plentiful. 🤦‍♀️

It's any items outside the essentials that are seeing very slow sales. Consumer confidence is extremely low and they're spending on necessities not luxuries. Either they're just barely able to make ends meet or they're afraid of what's going to happen in the near future with tariffs and such.

Caught a quick pic of my hyacinths before the deer discover and devour them. It's a yearly game to see if they'll bloom before they're eaten, and if so can I get a photo first. Daffodils are in bloom too.

Good little spot for a coffee with a stellar view too! I haven't been there in quite a while but have stopped a few times.

Some days you just have to stop and enjoy the fresh air and flowers. Dogs help keep us grounded and sane. Okay maybe it's just me, but they help.

Especially when your carbon monoxide detector decides it is the perfect morning to announce it is dead at full volume about 10 minutes before the alarm is due to go off. 🥴

What a cool effect!

This is exactly what I'm doing. Staying informed but I won't let it own me or my thoughts. And I won't let it ruin my health (physical or mental.)

I go to a gym where a group of guys that are 65+ come in 3 times a week to work out. They are so positive and encouraging to each other and others around. One of them had a stroke recently, and the fact he already works out regularly has been a huge boost to his recovery.

A neat part of living in a small town with nature all around. They're just making their daily trek into the safety of the ravine below.

Yup, that was me. And it was my first real crochet project so no pressure, right? On display for anyone to see! 🫣

A local florist who is in an old Sonic restaurant building wanted one of the poles in front of the place wrapped. I did the wrap, it was about 6 feet tall and an absolute blast to get creative and make it. I was hooked.

Exactly what I was thinking. The floral industry does not need this, especially this close to a major floral holiday. Such a huge percentage of roses alone come from Columbia. (Not a florist myself but my small business works exclusively with florists.)

I got this crazy notion I should get into more freeform crochet so I've been experimenting with that lately. I love the lack of rules and entirely going with the flow of it all. Maybe some of it will be worth sharing when it's done!

I have the best crochet assistant around. He helps hold yarn down so it doesn't run away, sniffs all new skeins to approve them, and adds fibers from his very being to most of my work.
Who am I kidding, dog hair is in every single thing I crochet!
It really is nice having him "help."

A wooden abstract piece made of 14 different hexagons and standing at 6 feet tall. Colors include yellow, orange, purple, teal, and green.

This thing. Sculpture? 3D mosaic? Hexagonism? It is 6 feet tall, made of wood, and is currently in the window at a local restaurant. @justarayofsunshine.bsky.social was very much involved in making this....creation.
