Americans need to get better at believing Trump when he says what he intends to do. He has repeatedly said he wants to make Canada the 51st state by destroying their economy. Luckily Canadians are listening and not sticken with the same collective denial that Americans are suffering from.

This is horrific though not surprising. A North Dakota jury has done the bidding of the oil pipeline company and claims the Indigenous-led movement at Standing Rock was somehow instigated and led by Greenpeace. At once racist and designed to silence a major environmental organization.

BOTH of New York 's senators betrayed the first real congressional effort to resist the Trump agenda. We deserve better than Schumer or Gillibrand. But Chuck is a disaster in that leadership role and needs to step down.

The whitehouse is claiming that direct individual assistance is not being paused. But they really don't know what they have cut. They have no understanding of how these funding streams work. Many programs are funded in block grants to states to administer. So I wouldn't make any assurances.
