The Monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena has been owned by the University of Catania since 1977. It has a fascinating history and there’s even a garden built on the lava flow from the 1669 eruption. I loved the library. I think I’ll send Olivia and Luca to visit it. #romanticadventure #romanticcomedy

In Sicily I had the perfect excuse to eat pasta every day without feeling guilty, and I think Olivia will follow in my footsteps. Eggplants, tomatoes, basil, and ricotta are the main ingredients of Pasta alla Norma, the famous Sicilian pasta recipe. A simple dish, yet delicious. #romanticmysteries

If you visit Taormina, take the time to explore the charming Piazza IX Aprile. Enjoy a gelato, the views of the sea and Etna, and visit the St. Joseph Church. Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe. In Greek mythology, Mount Etna was believed to be the home of the Cyclops and the forge of Hephaestus, the god of fire and blacksmithing.
