With @OmerYair1 and @AsifEfrat, we show that conspiracy thinking predicts mistrust in elections; well beyond losing or winning elections.

Just out with BJPIR. International rankings give states grades for their performance. Using a survey experiment in Israel, we show that citizens take note of high rankings given to their country, but dismiss poor rankings. People wish to think well of their country!

Public support for democracy is crucial to prevent backsliding. But existing survey questions focusing on βdemocracyβ may not measure the concept well, as the term βdemocracyβ varies in meaning and may prompt social desirability. polisky 1/3
