People can't afford another $1000-2000 per month, so those folks will simply go without insurance. So just watch the ER waiting rooms fill up. #inners

(Unfortunately it seems like the gifs here are all rated PG. I couldn't find anything darker than this one.)
On this Veterans Day, I'm reflecting on the fact that our Commander-in-Chief is a lying draft dodger who kicked out 5,000 trans service members who, unlike him, were serving ably and honorably, after hiring a white supremacist, alcoholic TV chatterbox to run our military.

11.11.2025 15:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes agreed, she has a solid point on that note. However the Democrat leadership did not communicate that to the rest of the party, so everyone is out there screaming that they caved. I just wish our party would grow spine, and actually do stuff like wield the filibuster to prevent bad legislation.

11.11.2025 13:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The answer is not to throw your hands up and abandon the Democratic Party.
The answer is to make the Democratic Party into what we want it to be.

The answer is not to abandon the Democratic Party.
The answer is to remove the old guard and make the Democratic Party into the party we want it to be.
We can do this.
Even if it is a good idea to preserve that tool, it's certainly does not look that way to the general public. All we see is that Democrats caved. Even if this actually was a very strategic move, again the Democrats branding and messaging is just not there.
11.11.2025 12:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Heather Cox Richardson has a different take on the Senate deal on the shutdown: preserving the filibuster. Apparently Trump ordered Rs to nuke it, and Ds wanted to preserve that tool. Good idea in theory, but Dems never wield the filibuster the way McConnell did.

11.11.2025 11:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh that will wake up don't magas! The Epstein pedo pizza parlor cabal network is at the heart of their worldview. If Trump pardons HER...? Hoo boy they'll be asking some questions.
11.11.2025 04:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm so sick of the fact that not only are the criminals like Trump getting away with it, but they are thriving and grifting on top of it. When is this crap going to end??? #maddow

11.11.2025 02:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes. Several analysts that I follow have been saying that this was very stage managed. They picked those senators who were either retiring or not up for election for a couple years. I'm absolutely furious that this practice is a thing. It's deceptive to voters.

11.11.2025 02:46 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed. After he lost that primary he kind of took his ball and went home, taking his followers with him. So he has some blame for Trump coming to power. But he has always been steadfast in his policy positions, which is more than we can say about a lot of folks.

11.11.2025 02:43 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Indivisible is beginning a massive primary project. They are pissed, as are we. These establishment Democrats better be shaking in their boots, after they have seen what Indivisible can do to mobilize people to protest. Because now we're coming for them. #maddow
