Cool clip I got while testing changes to Writer's Block

-Default fall speed is now slower
-The same letter is much less likely to show up in a row now
-Added some new words
-Some visual bugs were fixed

Hahaha I'm sorry, I know it's not ideal to limit it but I thought if I made the demo endless people would just be satisfied with that and never get the full game.

ah yeah the only way to navigate from that position is with a direction input, either with the Dpad or the analogue stick. Glad you were able to get it to work, and thanks for checking the game out :)

good to know thanks for the feedback, I went back and forth a lot on the default speed, i really didn't want runs to last so long that players want to lose on purpose, and a faster speed really gets fun the more you play I find, but it probably is a deterrent for beginners. Thanks for playing :)

Maybe it's an obvious thought, but the most important thing I realized on my break is that everything is hard. I used to think games were uniquely hard to make, but the limit of mastery for every medium is infinite. Learning that let me commit myself to the medium I had the strongest connection with

That sounds perfect, carefree fun rather than a nagging responsibility drew me to comics too!
I did try to make games a few times on my break but nothing stuck until I randomly got a job offer on a game, forcing me back, making me realize my love for games regrew while working in other mediums

After gaining some perspective through that work, I felt a lot more confident to return to games.
Not sure if it's applicable to your experience, but maybe branching out to something different for a while could help you too?

After I finished my first big game, I was overwhelmed by the amount of work it would take to one-up it. I ended up dabbling in comics and music for a few years instead, mediums where I had no expectations for myself.
