Back again today. Parking Enforcement was a block away though, and I pointed them here. The vehicles were eventually moved.

The most frustrating thing is the building where they were working HAS ITS OWN PARKING GARAGE.

Especially when they’ve been closed for as much time as they’ve been open over the past decade

Thanks Sanctuary Condo neighbors for shutting the park down for 6 months, fighting against reopening and then immediately using the park as your personal parking lot.

Queen Anne Boulevard is not actually an Olmsted boulevard. It was evaluated by Olmsted Brothers, but not included in their plan. Undeterred, the Queen Anne neighborhood committee forced it into existence and cut corners. It is at best “Olmsted-inspired”

What if we just kept Yale Ave closed to cars? It would do wonders for the Denny/Stewart intersection.

If our "environmental protection" frameworks can stop an affordable housing project but can't stop a detention center or a highway expansion we really need to start talk about ripping things up root and branch.

Except convention attendees are only occasionally there. For most of the year, the enormous buildings are mostly empty. This is why the area around the convention center feels like a ghost town more often than not.

There was supposed to be housing and offices built as co-development on top of the underground loading dock. The office tower got built (and looks to be VERY empty), but the housing site is just an empty slab without any plans for development at the moment afaik.

Also, this graph, despite its title, does not show that attendance is exceeding pre-pandemic levels. It shows that attendance is exceeding the level from 2019 only. What was attendance like in 2018, 2017, or the 10-20 years before the pandemic?

I don’t think Sound Transit’s plan to shut down the central part of Link light rail from Friday night to Saturday morning accounted for UW’s quarter ending. Currently on a shuttle replacement bus before 6am that is jam packed, is 50% suitcases, and has to turn people away at every stop.
