I was told not to teach a class on the intellectual histories of Zionism and Anti-Zionism next year - not because they doubted I could teach it fairly, but because it would attract too many politicians scrutinizing the syllabus.

A society where that is a valid fear is no longer fully democratic.

There is a BIG difference between lobbying which is what the "training" video is and scholarship on Israel. If this description is correct (haven't seen it), then the information provided on antisemitism and Israel is disputed/rejected by scholarship and it is promoting misinformation. Scary shit.

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, scholars' association says The world's leading genocide scholars' association has passed a resolution saying that the legal criteria have been met to establish Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, its president said on Monday.

86% among the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars backed the resolution: "Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide in Article II of the UN Convention for the Prevention & Punishment of the Crime of Genocide".

My qualitative findings support my argument. I argue that this demonstrates the utility of a mixed methods approach. I demonstrate that women in the Knesset want & aspire to legislate on the conflict and security but in reality are prevented from doing so, focusing instead on social issues.
