When they say "Defense" - we ask for whom?
When they say "Response" - we ask who initiated?
When they say "Inevitable" - we ask who determined that?
War is not destiny it is a choice.

Excited to be back on the webinar 'The Circle with Hamutal' 3.8 International Woman's Day we consider feminist resistance that refuses to whitewash abuses of power refuses to accept politics defined & driven by fear & normalization of violence for alleged 'security'

Very excited to join an incredible panel of Feminists and politicians to discuss power dynamics in Israeli politics.
This is an election year in Israel and the stakes are incredibly high.

A couple months ago I wrote for the #ForumforRegionalThinking arguing there are no real alternatives to right wing extremism in Israeli politics - it's a sobering discussion of policies in the upcoming election regarding Palestinians

🚨NEW PAPER
The Logic of Connective Faction:
How Digitally Networked Elites and Hyper-Partisan Media Radicalize Politics
w/ @yunkangyang.bsky.social & @mikecowburn.bsky.social
Online radicalization doesn't just affect the public.
It also reshapes how elites & parties behave. doi.org/10.1080/1058...
Maybe you don't care, we don't know each other so my response was not about you specifically. But realistically a lot of this type of conversation is very concerned with who white women date.
04.01.2026 20:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0When I first started hearing this it was after the 2016 election and there was a lot of hand ringing about ppl not dating across the aisle and that political polarization negatively impacts dating opportunities. The conversation was motivated by the gender voting gap. It *is* gendered & racialized.
04.01.2026 20:06 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I think this question is some white supremacist patriarchal bullshit. It relies on the idea that (primarily) women (preferably white) be available to (mostly white) men who are interested in them. The question challenges the idea that we are always entitled to say no, for whatever reason. End rant.
04.01.2026 19:15 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 1Destroying bureaucracy, independent journalism, academic institutions, public intellectual activity and research, Healthcare, freedom of movement, election integrity, was NEVER about government spending. This attack is an outcome of militarized ethnoreligious racist autocracy. Ask me about Israel.

03.01.2026 16:48 — 👍 19 🔁 6 💬 1 📌 0You wanna know what a country looks like with a hollowed out bureaucracy and diplomatic corps, with diplomacy and foreign affairs handled by extremist, inexperienced, sychophantic yes men? Look at Israel. What it means for military to follow illegal executive orders? Israel. AMA.
03.01.2026 16:43 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I know everyone is gonna look TO Latin Americanists to understand what is happening, but hear me out - a really relevant case for thinking through consequences is Israel. You want to know what it looks like for an executive to engage in destructive war unchecked by the legislature? I got you. AMA.
03.01.2026 16:40 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Nothing says we care about government spending like going to war. The most expensive government programming. 2026 is already delivering.

Go home prediction markets: you’re drunk
Political prediction markets moved billions in 2024, but new evidence shows they weren’t very accurate or efficient
PredictIt beat chance 93% of the time
Kalshi? 78%
Polymarket? 67%
Big price divergences, weak/negative correlations, & rampant arbitrage
Our paper on how cross-cutting group memberships predict warmer out-party affect and analyses suggesting this is why Latinos in the US have warmer feelings toward the out-party is now fully published in the most recent @polbehavior.bsky.social issue.

My latest article is now up on ASR. In it, we argue that the U.S. LGBTQ movement is in the midst of a widespread, conflictual process of generational turnover—with important implications for the future of the movement.

As we all wait for Callais to come down, our piece showing that Shelby County increased the racial turnout gap in most of the covered parts of the country has cleared the replication check and is incoming at JOP.

23.11.2025 14:15 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.
