I'm grateful for all the essential work nurses do for our state — and I'll continue fighting to ensure they have the resources and support they deserve.

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor of White Bear Lake, MN was killed in Kuwait while serving our country. She was an avid gardener who made salsa from peppers and tomatoes in her garden with her son. She also loved rollerblading and bicycling with her daughter. Here she is with her husband Joey. 🙏

Cheers! Anoka Social District to stay open year-round Grab your hat and parka, slip into those gloves and have a beer, will ya? The Anoka Social District is now open year-round, even in the dead of Minnesota winter.

Great news: the Anoka Social District is now year-round!

I was proud to author the bill that authorized the social district in 2022, and I'm even prouder to see it grow and succeed like this.

The good news is that the bill is DOA on the House floor, where Republicans do not have to votes to enact such cruelty.

GOP members of the House Tax Committee voted unanimously for these cuts. DFL members were unanimously opposed. The amendment passed because the Tax Committee has a temporary 1 seat GOP advantage.

Here is the full spreadsheet for folks’ reference. You can see the current funding is $1.48 million in 2026/27 and $2.529 in 2028/29. Republicans voted to cut that funding completely.

The chaos and cold-heartedness of the Trump/Musk GOP isn’t limited to Washington. MN House Republicans just voted to ZERO OUT funding for Meals on Wheels.
