What do turtles dream of? Perhaps they dream of flight…

In the studio, this tiny red-eared slider met a pair of dragonfly wings, and the result was pure magic. This piece, “When Turtles Dream,” explores those quiet, hidden moments of nature we usually only catch a glimpse of at the water’s edge.

A moody mountain landscape overlooking a quiet alpine lake in the North Cascades. Dense evergreen forests cling to the steep slopes surrounding a valley of green meadows. In the distance, sharp, rocky peaks rise beneath a heavy, overcast sky. A thin trail is visible winding through the greenery toward the water's edge.

Sometimes you just need to stand in a cold valley for a while. The Cascades always deliver when you need to disappear into the clouds.
