Twenty people joined us on the train today from #Lowestoft to #Halesworth for the Halesworth Scarecrow Festival & Pumpkin Trail! At St Mary's church we all made scarecrow jars, corn dollies, arts, crafts and drawing! Free fruit and drinks were laid on; thank you Pauline!

Vital track renewal/bridge repairs on the East Suffolk Line began Saturday. Many thanks to Network Rail for these terrific photos this morning at #Melton station showing the work being done on the line at the station itself, and at the adjacent A1152 Level Crossing.

Yesterday Greater Anglia held its annual Station Adopter Awards, showcasing what volunteers do to create lovely gardens/floral displays at stations. We'll tell you next week which ESL adopters were recognised. 1st though, Judges Special Award went to several winners including Sandy Burn/Westerfield!

Edible Felixstowe is part of the volunteer adopter team at Felixstowe station. They've filled the platform planters, which they built earlier this year, with violas, herbs & garlic. East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Officer Thalia installed a new water butt so the flowers/herbs have plenty to drink.

Birds of Prey are now helping to deter pigeons at Greater Anglia #Ipswich station thanks to an innovative scheme.

A hawk and falcon have been patrolling the station as part GA's ongoing commitment to create a better environment for passengers.

We're here in #Nottingham for the annual @communityrail.bsky.social conference. 120 people have turned out from across Britain to share ideas about making the railway network more accessible, station adoption, rejuvenating redundant railway buildings, and boosting tourism by promoting rail travel.

It was terrific meeting folks today at the Edible Felixstowe 'Grow, Cook, Eat Festival' at Great Eastern Square. The best in local food/drink, veg/seed exchange and entertainment. Edible Felixstowe are the volunteer station adopters who built the platform planters and filled them with herbs and veg.

Many thanks to Railscape for cutting the wildflower meadow @ Derby Road station. The seeds were then allowed to drop after which volunteer adopters Tom, Dennis & Rail Officer Thalia collected the branches; they'll be used as compost. A rubbish clear-up capped off the day. @communityrail.bsky.social
