Do we know that I’m also in Oregon? Forgive my inability to well maintain mental files, if so. If not, hey neighbor!

Eighty years worth of journals! Except one missing. It’s my story, but what a prompt!!!

I’m for supernatural happenings all around. Story that came to me in bits at 3:30 AM today (brain still on daylight savings): woman at an estate sale picks up a key that will unlock a trunk under a pile of crap. Says she’ll buy the whole thing without opening it (bc the sellers can’t find the key).

IMHO nothing spooky, lonely, remote, and architecturally blessed with winding stairs in paranormal gothic horror is overdone.

Everything gets worse as we age, except self-concept—we stop giving fu**s what other people think of us and discover our worth and beauty.

The Supreme Court allows Trump to pause full benefits for hungry Americans. Despicable! They sent it back to the 1st circuit courts. Oregon is feeding people. Pay attention, people! This is the first time in history that an administration is fighting to take food away from poor people.

Oregon found the funding to get SNAP benefits to my single mom daughter and her child. We, seniors on a fixed income, would have ensured that she and our grandson would not go hungry. But it’s better that we don’t need to do that. We have to stay healthy as long as possible to support her. Oregon!

🤣 Dude! I’m old but wasn’t the Spanish Flu in 1918? Yup, COVID.

Your posts always intrigue me, though not always well understood. Sugar mice, my friend… But fairy lore—bring it on! I just wrote a rather poetic short story featuring fairies. Where my muse got that is a mystery to me. Must read your book. Who knows if my fey folk are remotely well represented.

Val, I’ve had a few encounters with raccoons. If all that one said was “Hey, what’s going on?” I’d call that class in raccoon world. They’re not the sweetest animals on the planet. Good your pup didn’t get away—can be a lethal encounter.

Don’t think it comes easy. This novel has its roots in pandemic times. I finished it and entered a Write Hive contest to be supported by a volunteer mentor (published author to help with developmental editing). A year of collaboration resulted in a manuscript that still waited for final editing.

Congratulations! I’m channeling your forward movement. I just passed 18,000 words, which is a bit more than 20% of the total, in my final (🤞 ) edit of my debut novel.

Proud to be an Oregonian. Watched the Tariff case opening to close and was honored to see Oregon backing Neil all the way.

I want to also say, it’s more than self-interest, though feeding one’s family is absolutely understandable self-interest. It’s about integrity. We, the people, want honest leadership that embodies all that the word leadership implies.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

That Marcia Derse print is phenomenal but as I look at this first section the blob of brown in the one block really jumps out. I might have to take that apart to replace the one triangle with a different piece of the print. Sigh… it wouldn’t matter except I’ll always see it. 🥴🤷‍♂️

If you look up Wandering Wife (used to be called Gypsy Wife) by Jen Kingwell you can see images of the whole thing, but I’m just getting started so here is section one of ten sections that all get joined into one top.
