Airdrie warns public of brazen coyote after 6-year-old attacked at light festival | CBC News The City of Airdrie is warning the public to keep an eye out for a brightly painted coyote that was shot with a paint gun after attacking a six-year-old boy at a light festival Monday.

This is a 2018 story but it made me laugh out loud today. Canadian grit and humour at it's finest.

Some falafels in my garden

I just love the feeling you get at this time of year in the British countryside that all of nature is waking up. Today I found this nest of falafels in my garden and it’s going to be so exciting watching them hatch.

One of our pfriends brought Jeremy a whole tub of lettuce and I let him have it all at once.

A yellow car is parked by two large irregularly shaped giant packages on pallets. The top half of each 5 foot x 4 foot x 4 foot pallet is covered in corrugated cardboard with the lower half looking like painted particle board. All of it is encased in sheathed plastic wrap. The delivery docket says this weights 1200 lbs total. There's snow on all the ground except the strip of road visible on the mid right of the pic. There are white birches and evergreens both behind the car and along the right side of the road. The sky is infinitely blue, the sun shining. I'm so lucky today was delivery day - there were many other days ahead and behind then this would not have been so easy to manage.

My kitchen cabinets finally arrived and it's sunny not snowing or blowing a gale, and I was able to find helpers to get the cabinets inside in an hour. I feel very blessed.

There are lots of deciduous trees behind all this, with some scattered pines. There's a red tractor in the background. It's very sunny, with blue skies and bright shadows on the snow.

The back yard with snow thigh-deep. The sky is blue, the sun is shining creating shadow stripe effects from lower right to mid left. There are multiple pines in the background along with scattered deciduous trees I don't know yet, and the leafless tree mid right is a giant lilac.

I just moved from BC Canada to PEI and I am struggling to adjust my expectations. As I'm currently under a blanket of snow, I might need to adjust them even further. I do LOVE the winter sun though, it's glorious.

a smooth gray oblong shape is laying on a fluffy white pillow, for safekeeping. it appears to be a large basalt sample. it has a white band near one end that resembles a wide mineral vein of white quartz or calcite. there is no banana for scale, so it’s just as possible that this is a gray pitbull asleep on her side with all of her paws tucked in, but we’re sticking with rock for now.
