They've been doing really well with some of the more recent drops though, and abolishing the mob vote was beneficial not for the reasons most people say but because it means they can make mobs integrate *with* the update content rather than add them *in addition* to the content.

Being a Minecraft dev must be a stressful job, there's such a fine line between adding stuff that meshes well with the existing game but doesn't add much substance vs shaking up the formula too much and making things interesting but then having it feel foreign to the game.
