Fresh Object. I think this is my favourite loco now and it doesn't even run yet

Sometimes, I like the run my trains without sound, and just have the clickity clack of the rails. This is an old Bachmann PRR K4 (4-6-2) No. 1361 that I haven’t run in a while, it has no speaker but I kinda forget how well it runs. At the end you get a good look at my switching layout. #modeltrains

I recently got one of my dream models that's not from the PRR, the
Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Pioneer Zephyr. This is a Challenger Imports Brass model, and it's a beautiful set, plated, runs smooth, everything you could want.

Its a bit hard to find as the entrance is on the north side of the building in the parking lot.

Always a good operating session when you can clear the yard, if only briefly.
Our annual invitational session was a load of fun, having enough people to operate the entire layout.

G-8 consolidation pulling a milk car, one B&O and two NYC&HR coaches.

Friday saw the club debut of the newest coach, along with my two other narrow vestibule cars (and the milk reefer).

I was able to bring down my newly rebuilt Key Alco FA1/FB1 to the club for some laps. Here, they are passing by the Bethlehem Steel plant. Nice locomotives, took some time to rebuild, and still need a little work, but im happy with them.

Notch 8, dont be late!

I was able to bring down the PA's to the club tonight for their shakedown run. Quiet, smooth, powerful, everything you could ask for in a locomotive, all while pulling a nice sized passenger train.

A Key Imports Alco PA A and B set is now ready for service!

The locomotive from my last post is now back together and ready for service, now with an added B unit!

Can't wait to bring them to the club for their test/shake down run.

It is an Alco PA, very good!

It is HO scale, and it is a main line diesel electric locomotive.

1000%, more K4's needed.

I had to look up the first locomotive. XD

The newest locomotive project is underway!! Always like to fully tear down a locomotive to give it a full service. Bonus points if anyone can guess the locomotive!

Fire!

Usually, stuff disappears in that tunnel, I still have freight cars that haven't came out!

Some late night club nonsense.
Seeing if the Q2 can get around the tightest (flat) curve on the layout with @prrshepherd.bsky.social and @dagg3r-actual1-1.bsky.social

E units on freight?!? It's more common than you think! Figured I give these newly rebuilt E units a true break in run, pulling 40+ club cars that ride like the brakes are on.
They performed fantastic and are ready for service!

NYC&HR milk car almost complete.

The milk car now has vents and more detailed doors.
Still need to add ice hatches to the corners.

Usually, the L1s are one of the better ones. If you send it back to BLI, you'll be waiting forever.

I was able to chip off most of the large bits of glue, then sanded down the boiler with 1000 grit sandpaper before respraying the boiler section.

Super glue was spilled all over the top of the boiler when the new bell was added. Even with a fresh fingerprint!

One of the idler gears chipped a tooth right off, which explains the rough running.

What a project this BLI L1 ended up being. The previous owner decided to replace the bell and spilled superglue all over the boiler. I was able to sand it off and give it a small repaint. Then the gearbox chipped a tooth, sometimes you can't win with trains.
