Pressed and pinned pockets. Something like 51” wide. I folded the top down about 1” and ironed it, then rolled the top down another 4” over that and steamed it to help it hold its shape while sewing. The sides were treated in the same way but only did a 1” fold the second time.

I struggled to get the pocket folds correct so I laid out some gaffers tape on my table, took a tape measure and indicated my T square and then used that to indicate the table. It was a simple solution to help me square up the edges of the cloth with the ends as I prepped the pockets.

More indication!! This .25” square rod jig thingy doohickey acted as a fence to keep me straight while sewing a seam 4” deep into the cloth. You can see half inch lines I marked out on the work bed of my machine that were used to help gauge and place the dowel. I can’t take the credit for this one: I called my mom 8 times today for help and this one is all her.

Made some curtains today.

Bought a whole bolt of the lemon print and I only have 44” left. Never made anything this big. It was a ton of fun problem solving, note the newly indicated T square and tape-fastened dowel-jig.

And I only had to put about $4 in the swear jar (dollar per swear 😉)

I struggled finding straight sided bins that would work on this rack. The sturdy plastic options were $20+ a pop and the budget ones felt like they would snap if they were asked to hold 10+ pounds. Bankers boxes were the answer as they are sturdy, uniform easily repairable and readily available. Heavy items on the bottom shelf for stability!

I need to defrost the HP5 I’ve got.

Delta 3200 was nice the first time I shot it, but was pretty flat the next time. I tried P3200 which is supposed to resolve skin better but the images were also flat. I shot Tri-X at 1,600 and was reminded why it’s been the high speed b&w standard for decades.
