The “AI isn’t going anywhere” argument makes no sense because these companies are losing billions of dollars per year with no clear path to profitability; the servers AI runs on require massive material inputs like chips and electricity that cost money. When the money runs out AI is going away.

ffs, don't use AI for therapy. Just. Don't.

IMO a lot of the problem with AI in therapy comes from the view of therapy as mechanical rather than relational (e.g. CBT). You wouldn't ever plausibly think that AI could be useful in therapy unless you thought a meaningful ongoing therapeutic relationship with another human being was unimportant.

Autistic and neurodivergent people deserve far better than a government looking to prevent their existence, let alone one that will invent fictitious ways to do so that puts everyone in danger

When people ask me when I'm going to stop wearing a mask, my new response is "have you see what's happening to public health in America? Do you think there will be any support if you get Long Covid?"

I’ve interviewed a lot of victims stayed in an abusive relationship because they worried their loved ones would judge them for not leaving sooner. They needed support and they knew they would get ridicule instead.

And that’s something I’m thinking about a lot in this political environment.
