Some distinctions need to be made. For the most part, Asheville is NOT in ruins. Downtown was basically untouched . Part (NOT ALL) of the River Arts District and Part (NOT ALL) Biltmore Village are in ruins,. Swannanoa, Marshall, Burnsville, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave - THOSE are the hardest hit areas.

Shutting down medical research — not just within NIH, but everywhere that’s funded by NIH — will have long-term effects on medicine & short-term effects on state, higher education & hospital budgets. This affects all of us, not just researchers.

All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

Last year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and adopted a WFPB diet.. quickly lost 25 pounds and felt terrific. Now Post-treatment, I've slid back into old eating habits. I need to go back to WFPB. It was great, except I don't think I can give up Salmon.
