Shame on you. A promise to vote on subsidies does not continue the subsidies. As the mom of a young woman with $200,000 in medical expenses each and every year, caving for a promise to think about subsidies is a death sentence.
Caving is not continuing to fight.

Thank you! My orthopedic oncologist is quite cavalier about COVID - one would think that a doctor whose patients are often immune suppressed would do better!

A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients
If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.
If you missed the original Disabled Ginger article - it was dedicated to @tinu.bsky.social - a fierce Long Covid and disability advocate who never stopped fighting for masks in healthcare.
She passed away just over a month ago - and we all need to keep fighting in her honour:

My disability tax is often having to pay for taxis or takeout due to being too symptomatic to take transit or cook. Itβs expensive and I donβt really have the money to spare.

On a positive note - I was permitted to wear my mask during the colonoscopy (in sharp contrast to my cancer surgery at the world-renowned institution in the first snippet - from which I awakened in recovery and they couldn't even find my mask (12/2020 - pre-availability of vaccinations.))

More recently, I had a colonoscopy. Each of the providers asked why I was masking.

I wore a high quality mask, as I always do outside my home. I also warned health care providers at first contact that I had been exposed so they could take additional precautions to protect themselves. The two most interesting responses (from a specialized cancer team which treats a lot of

Snippets from my experiences:
I was exposed to COVID at a super-spreader wedding earlier this year. My spouse contracted COVID. I immediately started masking at home, I moved out of our bedroom, and cranked up the HEPA filtration. Roughly 3 days later I had a doctor's appointment.
