ERDS 2025 — Preparing for the Next Pandemic

Our final session looked boldly ahead, asking not if, but when the next pandemic will come… and how we’ll be ready. Bringing One Health to the forefront and highlighting the challenges in the public health system bringing all relevant parties together.

One of the most powerful sessions from last week’s came from A/Prof Claire Hooker, University of Sydney. “Trust in Crisis: Lessons from Australia’s COVID-19 Risk Communication,” unpacked the complexities of how we share information in uncertain, high-stakes moments, and why trust is a critical tool.

Last week, ASID proudly hosted the Emerging Respiratory Diseases Symposium (ERDS) at the iconic Charles Perkins Centre in Sydney, and it was nothing short of phenomenal.
