Just got out of TRON Ares. It starts at 11 and goes hard from there. Different vibe from legacy but lots of great action and cool visuals. NiN was a great soundtrack for a 2 hour action movie. I really enjoyed it! Definitely worth seeing if ya like TRON.

You are spot on with your assessment. It really did feel like live action anime in a way that was very enjoyable to me.

I’ll admit it. I enjoyed Tron: Ares. I’ve only ever been interested in the franchise for the visuals and music, and that’s what they leaned into. If the characters spoke Japanese and were subtitled, it would have been live action Anime.

Honest hot take: I would rather rewatch Tron: Ares multiple times than most new Marvel movies (some exceptions of course).
I’ve seen Ares 3 times now and I honestly really enjoyed it, not better than the last 2 movies, but still really enjoyed it.

Saw Tron Ares and I’m beyond pissed

Not because it was bad, far from it actually. But because it sets up two REALLY good ideas for a sequel that we’re either never getting or waiting another 20 years for.

Regardless of box office woes, I’m glad I was able to go back to the grid

I need the next TRON installment to go full solar punk (solarpunk?) and hopepunk, because TRON: Ares gave us some of that and I want more. Also, please continue to roast malevolent, incompetent nepo babies looking for a quick buck. Dillinger worked really well as a villain, plus the end credits bit!

TRON: ARES (2025), Nostalgia induce, a bombardment of neon red & chrome black with a NIN soundtrack for the ages!

Simplistic story, but the spectacle is marvelous, Leto is phenomenal, it feels more like a sequel to TRON than Legacy.
