Currently doing research on testing processes for high-level Magic - if anyone is interested or curious about the topic (constructed or limited), feel free to grab some of my time to chat :)

The Modern metagame and win rates from last weekend's Regional Championships!

I find most real world behaviors to match ATA than win rates (except for rare drafting sometimes), including during testing.
Also PT draft 1 differs from draft 2 (most people Q from constructed - so pod testing presumes all are in the know for draft #2, but you can clean up draft #1)

Final point - communication is very key. You need to protect from personal biases and opinions while encouraging information coordination, knowledge share and discovery of synergies (especially late pick synergies) and salvage archetypes.

The truth is that the data is more likely to be valid than false from experience - I tend to do a check BO1 v. BO3 and per archetype validation to sanity check, but data will be a strong starting basis. You want to be a week ahead of the current metagame.

Your goal in pod drafts is validation, coordination and discovery. Validate 2nd tier data findings (archetypes), teach the group to ensure quality (avoid overrated cards / caution on underrated) and discovery of 2nd / 3rd tier or level archetypes that will appear in pod draft.
