🌱 Today I caught my radishes just as they began thinking about radishing! So to speak.

Just to cover all bases of the Transformers fan market, I'm considering doing an art book of various characters being indifferent towards each other.

Red hot action of robots passing each other in corridors, not acknowledging each other in lifts, that sort of thing.

Smoke out the REAL perverts.

Travelling right now. There are so many pretty old buildings here. This is the natural science museum, and if you get closer you can see all these incredibly cute details of plants and animals in the building's design.

I went to the Royal Melbourne Show today. There was so much fancy artisan gin, it's really having a moment right now. Predictably I made my own showbag of gin and cheeses, and then took myself off to watch the showjumping. :)

In my experience, a marketing team is a little like the fair folk. It's not that you really believe they're out there doing anything significant... but when you see a mushroom ring, you step around it, not through it.

🌱 My second variety of cherry tomatoes is starting to fruit. I did not realise they would be so dark from the outset... I wonder how I'll know when they're ripe? I usually judge by colour!

Next up is something called 'The Once and Future Witches,' by Alix E. Harrow, a writer I know nothing whatsoever about. ✌️

Emerged from my end-of-term "never reading anything again" slump to pick up some light reading for fun. Naomi Novik's Scholomance Trilogy is a love letter to Ursula K Le Guin's 'The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas'. If you like that kind of thing, it comes recommended.

I've become the kind of very boring person who occupies themselves with thoughts like, "Oh, an em dash to introduce a new clause in the very introductory paragraph of a government consultation paper? That's a bold move, I'm not sure I'd have done that."

I've been meaning to catch that one! From the ads I saw it looked like it was really going to, you know, do something so ridiculous but play it so straight.

Hill sprints always sound so seductively easy on paper. "They're so short! You'll be done so fast!" Yeah, there's a reason they're over so fast... it's because YOU'RE going so fast. Uphill. On repeat. 😭

These big ornamental kales are so cool! I love the look of them... and I am so excited to see someone growing them in the wild (well, in the wilds of the gardening feed anyway) because I've only seen them in seed catalogues otherwise, haha.

I went off to the royal show this week. It's the first time I've attended in many years but I was delighted to catch the show hunters, watch a blacksmith make horseshoes, and look at all the incredible crafts on display. And I got to meet sooo many sweet ambassador animals.

🌱 Two days of wind and rain finally did in my largest dahlia cluster. This photo taken sometime in summer long before the weather catastrophe. Goodbye, dahlias, goodbye. See you next year!
