Ian Smith became the oldest person to ring a full peal on Exeter Cathedralβs bells on 14 Feb. He rang 5009 Stedman Cinques in 4hrs6mins.
A volunteer here for 20+ years, Ian turned 80 last year. Given our bells are the worldβs 2nd heaviest, ringing for 4hrs at his age is a wonderful achievement.
