This is my first book by this author, and I was honestly blown away after not being sure what to expect going in. It was genuinely creepy, the characters are amazing, and I was glued to it for the last 200 pages.
I think The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig may be a contender for my favourite book that I've read this year.
Genuinely creeped me out and I loved the characters.
And that ending!
The Forsaken and the Fated by Camilla Raines
This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint! I love Miles and Gabriel so much but the supporting characters are so great that I'd happily read books for them.
The Girl in the Woods by Patricia MacDonald
It does feel like poor Blair is running around talking to brick walls for the first chunk of the book, and the only time anyone wants to help is for their own gain.
The 13th Footprint by Sanbe Kei
I was so excited when I saw this was finally being translated into English because I am such a big fan of one of his other works - Erased - and thankfully this was just good as I expected it to be.
Dead Girls Walking by Sami Ellis
Now this is a book that brought the creepy factor. I heard a floorboard creak while I was reading one night and had to scrape myself off the ceiling. I love Temple and Cali and everyone else, but Yaya was my surprise favourite.
Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber
I know this book is proving to be pretty divisive, but I will say that I did enjoy it, I just think that so much of the interesting stuff happened in the last ~50 pages, and the most intriguing character didn't even show up.
The Art of Dying by Ambrose Parry
I'm so emotionally invested in this series that this book made me want to gnaw through a brick wall because what do you MEAN you put (redacted) through all that?!
Honestly, this one was a slog to get through. It's not a bad book - I just don't get bothered by gore or any of the other stuff that's supposed to scare you in this book.

Release date: 10th Feb 2026
This is such an interesting twist on the usual time loop story. We rarely get to see the aftermath of a time loop and I love the way it plays out in this story.
Dammit, Sarah's husband is great. And he's dying. ๐ญ

Great story, fun romance, and that pseudonym is one of my favourites.

(Nothing is skipping over A Cinnamon Falls Mystery or A Steeping of Blood. Not even one of my most anticipated sequels of the year.)
That's so pretty!
26.09.2025 21:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman
Book 50/50! And it was a good one. I changed my favourite character about six times during this one.
Even if you donโt watch the show English Teacher, hope you'll read this. This is about more than 1 show, 1 guy.
FX just renewed a show from a man facing allegations of assault. I have a LOT of questions about the implications not just for FX but for the whole industry www.salon.com/2025/02/12/f...
Stephen asking if Bogdan is his son. ๐ญ And Elizabeth saying that she has friends now. ๐ญ

Cis peeps, please write to your MPs about this absolute bollocks.
Appeasing weirdo internet forums to push for widespread oppression isnโt something the health secretary should consider his job. Shitโs inappropriate and is veering heavily to segregation.
Ooh, those are so nice.

The Boy From the Woods by Harlan Coben
I'm not sure if I want to read the second book because I feel like this one leaves everyone in such a nice place.
The Rainfall Market by You Yeong-Gwang
If you liked The Midnight Library, you'll probably like this - it's a bit more whimsical and the premise is a bit more "just because you ask for A, doesn't mean the rest of the alphabet will follow."
Everything I've learned about d4vd has been against my will.
