Nah it's horrible. I always feel a deep kind of existential despair there.

Once you get to a point where the design makes sense, you do critique. If you don't do critique then in a very meaningful sense you are not doing design.

The critique asks one question: for the thing you were trying to do, is this the best way to do it?
