GDQ is coming to Halo Fest this December! I literally could not be more excited. Being able to help put together an event centered around the series that I grew up with (and introduced me to speedrunning) is a dream come true.

As far as stuff that's been on OotB, the runs that strike me as most immediately approachable and an hour or less would be Mega Man X (I learned it to competence within a few hours), Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth (though I don't know if you can legally acquire) and Yoku's Island Express Inbounds

of the other things that I've run before, the racing games come to mind - i could send you my commentary notes for parking garage rally circuit ($10) and maybe make up an explainer for the handling model. buck up and drive ($8) is also goofy and approachable fun to "time trial"/score chase in

several good mentions in replies already - partial game categories are definitely more approachable (Zelda Master Sword% runs and the like) and brawlers you can wrap your head around pretty easy as long as you don't mind their APM requirements (TMNT, Double Dragon Gaiden among the things I run)
