I associate Chloris with Snowdrops.
They symbolize perseverance and they were once an omen of death, which perfectly reflects her past and how she dealt with it.

It takes a lot to get him to snap, but when he does, it's volatile.

Augustine doesn't curse, and quite intently avoids it.
On the very rare occasions he does it is for a particular emphasis (he apologised preemptively to @itsnad.bsky.social Rae about this just yesterday).
Dolly on the other hand can be as coarse as sandpaper at the cussin' factory.

Obvious answer but medicine.
Augustine's medical knowledge is a bit ahead, and probably seems fairly radical in a setting where healthcare is so reliant on magic/clerics. Whilst he's a general practitioner - his particular strength is emergency/trauma care.
He invents his own devices, even.

There are memories Allora desperately tries not to remember: The day her sister died & her body was brought to her in Dagos' palace. The night Dagos forced himself upon her while he was in his ascended devil form. Because she cannot face the memories she has nightmares about them instead.

Black and White is an illusion for Fairy Tales. You can't get away with that shit in more advanced literature, otherwise it just won't be interesting.

(Unless you write like a parody char like the 100% good Paladin, that's fun too! But it's so much more realistic in greyscale.)

Each of them have qualities & problems. They feel like real people to me, capable of growing but also doing terrible shit when things get bad and I fuck with that.

(went a bit off the rails from writing to a little mental health rant lol but I just want anyone who reads this to know, you and your struggles are valid, I see you and please feel hugged.)

Don't compare yourself to others, instead compare yourself to yesterday you, and remember, there are ups and downs on this path, pitfalls and smooth sailing. Give yourself the grace you would usually give to a friend.

The world's mean enough without you being mean to or pressuring yourself.

The overarching message being: You can have two characters who live through the same shit, and they will never deal with it in the very same way.

A healing journey looks different for anyone, and that's *okay*.

#DominoOC: Hiding behind a smile only gets you so far, those who truly care about you will easily peek behind your mask.

#RolimOC: Healing needs time, and you damn well deserve to take it.

#VincentOC: Just because you look like your feelings can't be hurt, doesn't mean that's true.

#ElegysOC: Sometimes you thrive more in a chosen family than in the one you were born into.

A static character is a boring character, so they live, they learn, they heal from whatever trauma I throw at them.

They become beacons of hope or break and turn down a dark path. Boiling it down to the basics, each of them comes with their own message.

But honestly, this is where I thrive. Because no one exists in their own bubble, there's always an overlap, whether they want it or not. And it's in the interactions where their true character comes out.

I want the world to feel lived in, the characters to have their flaws. It may seem like I have way too many Tav's, but I just love interactions between them a lot.
@ishi-amai.bsky.social can attest to that, in our modern AU I just juggled 6 chars when Darius and Ro visited extended family.

I am such a sucker for worldbuilding, I can't just make one-universe Tav's, they have siblings, parents, old lovers, lost friends, things that make them 3-dimensional. ⏬🧵

Augustine's voice.
I'm proud of his complexity how he's developed from where we started in suprising ways - but his perspective, how he speaks and articulates and cuts through the world is I think a distinct aspect of him.
He knows who he is.
I hope conversation with him is interesting.

What is something that your Tav is bad at?

Meidhreach? Not many things BUT
ice-skating, he's more akin to a new-born deer on the ice with long limbs he doesn't know what to do with.

And cook, Meidhreach had a life of privilege and so never had to cook. He tries to help at camp but-
