People don't understand the danger of apathy. I know that overreacting and shrieking at every tragedy isn't productive, but after a while, it reaches a point where the only thing that you can do is either yell or just become complicit in the crime yourself by way of silence.

It really feels like screaming into the void sometimes. I tell my friends and family about the various ways that the US is descending into the darkness of authoritarianism, and it's just met with shrugs and an occasional "yeah sucks man, but what can I do?"
