NYCDOC city COs make $120k a year straight time (plus all the OT you can stand) NYSDOCCS state COs make $64k/yr plus as much OT as you want - FBoP federal COs make a paltry $54k year (with the location differential for NYC)- so FBoP loses lots of officers to NYC & NYS

there were only two FBoP officers on his tier that night - neither one a sworn CO, both on a mandated double working out of title as COs cause thy were short handed that night (FBoP is chornically understaffed - because FBoP COs are grossly underpaid in this region)

on the other hand, Epstein a billionaire used to eating caviar with CEOs & PhDs who's now eating cheese sandwiches and sharing showers with illiterate street guys - he couldn't handle it, so he took the coward's way out

civil service jobs are hard to get (ESPECIALLY uniformed - they took a test, medical, psychological, polygraph, background check, credit check & spent 9 months in the academy to get that gig) - nobody's going to lose their baby's insurance or fuck up their pension over some politics!

no civilian is even getting through the gate unless you pass through two layers of security run by three different agencies (one of them a much better funded NYC mayoral agency) - as for FBoP or USMS personnel killing Epstein - nobody with a unionized civil service gig is going to do that

once the Marshals or the NYPD let you through (they won't unless you have cause to be there) the FBoP officers on the gate at Park Row & Pearl St have to let you in - if you don't have an FBoP or USMS badge, you're only getting in during visiting hours or if you're a vendor making a delivery

I have - its in a high security part of Manhattan, next to NYPD headquarters and 2 federal courthouses

I genuinely don't understand why folks can't wrap their minds around the concept that a billionaire facing life in prison might kill himself & that he was able to do so because federal prisons are underfunded, understaffed & have really bad health care services for inmates, especially mental health
