Angelo Stiller has absolutely bossed this game for Stuttgart at Celtic. One to watch re United in the summer, for sure. #mufc

That Newcastle penalty decision is absolutely ridiculous. Where is he supposed to put his arm?

β€˜It fills my heart’: Andrews lauds Macclesfield for their dream FA Cup adventure * Brentford coach praises non-league side’s advances * Manager John Rooney proud of Macclesfield’s efforts Keith Andrews made a beeline for the Macclesfield dressing room after Brentford’s fourth-round FA Cup victory at Moss Rose and told John Rooney and his players they had been immense against his Premier League charges. Macclesfield’s fairytale FA Cup run ended by Heathcote’s own goal against Brentford The National League North side lost 1-0 after Sam Heathcote’s own goal as Brentford set up an FA Cup fifth-round tie at West Ham

Gah. Macclesfield 0-1 Brentford. A mighty fine effort from the non-league side, who finish their FA Cup campaign on an aggregate 2-2 scoreline v Premier League sides. Bees just about deserved it but given a real test.

I’m at Macclesfield for @sport.theguardian.com again to see if lightning can strike twice in the FA Cup. Could be a fun one.

Oh and they have Bergvall, Bentancur, Palhinha, Sarr, Bissouma, Gallagher and Gray in midfield too. And one of the best CBs in the league in Van de Ven. And a decent GK in Vicario.

They probably won't but imagine if a Spurs squad (and I know some are injured) with forward options of Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus, Richarlison, Simons, Solanke, Kolo Muani, Tel and Odobert go down... would be madness.

Seven goals in 13 starts all comps, five in his last six games (mostly as a sub). For most strikers this would be called red-hot form... #mufc

Casemiro proved his doubters wrong. Now Manchester United must try to replace him The Brazilian was often exposed by the tactics of Ten Hag and Amorim, but was always adaptable and a replacement will be expensive β€œLeave the football before the football leaves you.” The meme-baiting quote from Jamie Carragher hung heavy over Casemiro for a long while, but it is testament to the Brazilian’s character and durability that he will leave Manchester United this year on his own terms, two years after those infamous words from the former Liverpool player. In fairness to Carragher, context at the time was key. After United were hammered 4-0 by Crystal Palace in May 2024, Casemiro looked spent at the elite level, bypassed too easily in increasinglyΒ fast‑tempo matches and left for dead by Erik tenΒ Hag’s high-risk tactics. How do you replace Casemiro? It’s currently one of the biggest questions at Manchester United www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Surprised how sloppy Newcastle have been, especially since they're at home. Brentford are one of the most well-drilled sides in the Premier League.

I'll be all over your second half updates, if you wish to join.

Leeds 2-0 up but Forest a little unlucky if you ask me. The Elland Road crowd seem to be making a big difference. Join me here for second half updates.

My No.1 choice is Pochettino... but there are downsides to him too (as with every candidate).

Enzo Maresca to Manchester United? He's another one who doesn't quite tick all the boxes, for me. Here's what me and Ed said on the @nqatpod.bsky.social managers special #mufc

I think that Spurs first half performance can lay a claim to being the worst 45-minute display from any team in Premier League history. Genuinely.

Not a convincing display by any means – Fulham had some big chances and United were too open – but the belief coursing through this United team right now is something to behold. That alone is worth a lot. #mufc
