Consider how few anecdotes it took for the media to declare a Free Speech on Campus crisis.

Every day we get more evidence that the Republican Party is teeming with white supremacists yet elite institutions refuse to frame this as a crisis that needs the nation’s attention.

If you haven’t seen it, this footage from @apnews.com is incredibly important.

The intent here seems unmistakable, in two ways: (1) just read the genocide convention, here it **absolutely** is, and (2) this level of infrastructural destruction is, no question, meant as pre-development demolition.

A pattern is developing where everyone who fights back against a Trump attack inevitably wins with their reputation much better than before, and everyone who caves to him looks like shit and has Trump coming back for more a month later.

What happened to Jimmy Kimmel is not about one comedian who said something he should not have said. The Trump administration and its enforcers want to control your speech, your behavior, even your public expressions of mourning. You are not allowed to criticize the president’s associates. You do not even retain the right to remain silent; you must make public expressions of emotions demanded by the administration and its allies or incur its disfavor, which can threaten your livelihood. This is the road to totalitarianism, and it does not end with one man losing his television show.

The Republican reaction to Kirk’s murder has been a campaign of state repression that ends with Trumpist toadies deciding what Americans are allowed to think, do and say. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

It is truly buckwild to see figures ranging from Newsom to Obama to Booker to Harris and just about every name you would expect--along with every major news organization--mourn this man who had spent his life hatemongering in every possible way he could so quickly and eagerly.

Not building housing screws young people, pushes them out & tanks future economic success. We need to make it easier & faster to build the homes we need for a bright future. Our current vetocracy need to change & we’re working to change it.

This is the most infuriatingly witless talking point. No history is “erased” by the removal of a monument. What he means is “we want to celebrate and honor racism,” but that sounds bad, so we’re supposed to pretend this illiterate goon has some deep interest in the study of history.

whites supremacy isn’t mostly people in white hoods or proud boys. it’s mostly this belief that the mere act of being white imbues superiority upon you; that white people should have first, best or only access to every good, opportunity & privilege has to offer before anybody else gets anything.

This is correct. They tell us that the great replacement is a "conspiracy theory, yet we can look at New York City and see it happening right in
front of our eyes.
Stephen Miller @ @StephenM • 10h The commentary about NYC Democrats nominating an anarchist-socialist for
Mayor omits one point: how unchecked migration fundamentally remade the NYC electorate. Democrats change politics by changing voters. That's how you
turn a city that defined US dominance into what it is now.

So, these people are white supremacists of a very specific, American kind. The idea that the right to govern belongs only to a select, racially defined group was *the* political theory of the antebellum and redeemed south. Ask who is being replaced and why that’s a problem, you’ll see it.

Stephen Miller’s Fingerprints Are on Everything in Trump’s Second Term The president ’s deputy chief of staff has played an outsize role in immigration—and amassed more power than almost anyone else at the White House.

the takeaway from this is that, for all practical purposes, stephen miller is the acting president of the united states. trump is just play-acting as the boss, as he did on the Apprentice. (gift link)

There is one place, however, where Musk, with the help of his minions, achieved his goals. He did indeed shred U.S.A.I.D. Though a rump operation is now operating inside the State Department, the administration says that it has terminated more than 80 percent of U.S.A.I.D. grants. Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

The whole 'Grok is a boer now' thing is very funny, but it also really exposes how every 'AI tool' isn't just passively biased from training data, but actively designed to shape your worldview according to the interests of the billionaires who made them.

Ai is a tool for digital State capture nothing else. AI is being forced into all of our lives because it is not a feature to help you learn it is a tool to control you and knowledge while also neutering your ability to know anything.
