Today, Senate Republicans rejected an amendment from Sen. Jay Chaudhuri that would have taken a comprehensive, data-driven approach to lowering health care costs in North Carolina.

Happy New Year! I am grateful and excited to start my new term in the NC Senate, representing southern Wake County. :) We know 2025 will present some unique challenges, but we will face them together.

North Carolina’s 2.5% corp. income tax rate is the lowest in the country. Cutting it to 0% by 2030 (which current law does) = shooting ourselves in the foot.

Congratulations to Senator Sydney Batch and Representative Robert Reives on their election and reelection as Democratic leaders in the Senate and House. They are visionary leaders who reflect NC’s bright future. I look forward to working with both of them to build a safer, stronger state.
