Reduced Dietary Protein Induces Changes in the Dental Proteome Low dietary protein (10%) from normal (20%) does change protein expression in tooth proteome and alter developmental pathways. Among the significant protein expressions changes are actin-based myosin...

Delighted to share my latest publication, co-authored with my postdoc advisors (including @nsvitek.bsky.social) which is a new research direction for me in proteomics. But I am sad that I wasn't at the @sicb.bsky.social meeting when it dropped!

These two things are not correlated, they are causally linked. Without the IRACDA training and mentorship I received, my professorship would have been impossible. Gutting NIH Training Grants deprives our society and culture of talent. Continue telling reps that you oppose cutting science funding.

Today years old when I learned The Rats of NIMH are actually The Rats of the National Institute of Mental Health. The stories were inspired by Calhoun's experiments. I am not sure what to think right now.

John Bates Shows Us Birds Killed by Windows at McCormick Place - What They've Learned From The Birds
YouTube video by Birds of a Feather Talk Together Podcast John Bates Shows Us Birds Killed by Windows at McCormick Place - What They've Learned From The Birds

Every year, migrating birds crash into McCormick Place in Chicagoβ€”but thanks to new window decals, deaths are down from previous years. The birds collected for science reveal something shocking: they’ve been shrinking over time.

Leave your comments. Do not forget to note your stance on this. For instance, my final statement of my comment was, "I OPPOSE this rule change."

Can simple algorithms tell cryptic species apart? by Caleb Gordon, MPhil, B.A. Some species are easy to tell apart. Take chimpanzees and humans, for example. We are each other’s closest living relatives, we share the vast majority of our DNA, and …

On May The 4th - Caleb Gordon wrote this nice summary of our turtle paper from last year. This was a long paper but one that was ultimately a lot of fun. iobopen.com/2025/05/04/c...
